Q: How can I effectively train my dog to navigate the Channel? At Dog Agility Innovations, we're passionate about helping you and your agility partner excel in agility training! Dogs are very adept at learning the behaviors we want for obstacles, but mastering tunnels and curves can require a bit more finesse. To ensure your dog navigates the uprights on a curve effectively, it's important to occasionally add a back wall to a curved section to simulate a tunnel. This helps reinforce the concept and makes the training more comprehensive. Additionally, be patient and consistent—some dogs might need a refresher on tunnels while they continue honing their agility skills. With dedication and consistency, you'll inspire your pup to reach the next level! Check out our Blog for more information on training with the Channel.

Why is the Channel only 24 inches High?We are constrained by the Aframe obstacle and the chain or bar that supports it's shape. Otherwise, the height can be as tall as desired and the width as well. For now, we are making the Channel the same dimentions as a tunnel dimension would be: 24 x 24" for height and width.

What are the different configurations I can do with a Channel? The curved channel can be set up with a minimum of 2 sections and can also be made as long as desired. It can be set up with either a second wall, or with no back wall. The option of no back wall gives the dog more freedom to move and it also allows the user to set up more curves with less sections. Upright/Wing Straight Channel Curved Channel Temporary Barrier/Gate Upright/Wing The easiest configuration is to make an upright by attaching one section onto itself. The upright can then be used by itself to work on handling maneuvers, or against a wing to help shape the dog's path around the wing. The upright can also be used as a wing against a jump upright. Straight Channel Two sections can be set up paralell to one another to from a straight channel for the dog to run through. The length can be at least 5 feet, or as long as the user wishes. Simply attach sections together to form the desired length. Curved Channel The curved channel can be set up with a minimum of 2 sections and can also be made as long as desired. It can also be set up with either a second wall, or with no back wall. The option of no back wall gives the dog more freedom to move and it also allows the user to set up more curves with less sections. Temporary Barrier/Gate Flip the sections upside down and add feet to make a temporary barrier. A panel can also be used as a gate if desired. What other configurations can you come up with? Please share!

How does the channel work? The channel is a set of 3-panel sections that when combined, form either a channel for the dog to run through or individual uprights to use for handling training. These sections can be used to form a single curve to send the dog around. The length can extend from 5 feet up to as long as you like. Please see our Blog for more information on how to use the Channel.

Why should I use the Channel over the Tunnel? At Dog Agility Innovations, we offer the innovative Channel product designed specifically to simplify your agility needs. One of the primary benefits of the Channel is that it does not require heavy sandbags to anchor it down. Instead, the unit is supported by top stabilizers and, if necessary, base stabilizers to ensure it stays securely in place. Moreover, the Channel is highly versatile and can be configured to accommodate multiple curves where typically multiple tunnels would be needed. This flexibility allows you to add sections to achieve the desired configuration, making it a convenient and efficient solution for your dogs. Whether you're looking to work foundation handling, or set up a full course, the Channel provides the adaptability and stability you need.
